Povodom izbora u zvanje gostujućeg nastavnika Medicinskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, profesor Steven Živko Pavletić, M.D., M.S. održat će 30.03.2016. (srijeda) nastupno predavanje pod naslovom “Chronic GvHD – A Remaining Unmet Medical Need And The Challenges Of Clinical Trials”. Predavanje će se održati na Medicinskom fakultetu, Šalata 4, Dvorana 1 (CEPAMET) s početkom u 13:00.

Prof. Pavletić već dugi niz godina radi u američkom Nacionalnom institutu za zdravlje (NIH, Bethesda, Maryland) gdje trenutačno obnaša funkciju pročelnika Graft-versus-Host and Autoimmunity Unit u okviru Experimental Transplantation and Immunology Branch, National Cancer Institute (NCI). Suradnik je National Institute for Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, NIH, i naslovni profesor Medicine i onkologije na Sveučilištu Georgetown, Washington D.C. Glavni znanstveni interes prof. Pavletića je kronična reakcija presatka na primatelja (Graft-versus-Host Disease, GVHD), posebice vođenje multidisciplinarnog međuinstitucijskog kliničkog programa za cGVHD u okviru američkog Nacionalnog institute za zdravlje (NIH).

On the occasion of awarding the degree of visiting professor of the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine Professor Steven Zivko Pavletic, M.D., M.S., will hold his inaugural lecture “Chronic GvHD – A Remaining Unmet Medical Need And The Challenges Of Clinical Trials” on 30th March 2016. at 13:00 at the School of Medicine, Šalata 4, Lecture Hall 1 (CEPAMET).

Prof. Pavletic works at the National Institutes of Health (NIH, Bethesda, Maryland, USA) as the head of Graft-versus-Host and Autoimmunity Unit at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Experimental Transplantation and Immunology Branch. He is also an associate at the National Institute for Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases and an adjunct full professor of medicine and oncology at the Georgetown University in Washington DC. Prof. Pavletic’s main research interest is chronic Graft-versus-Host Disease (cGVHD), actively leading a multidisciplinary inter-institute clinical research program at the NIH.
